Course Description/Overview: This course explores Custom Objects in Archer. It provides examples of how custom objects are used to customize UI layouts, manipulate and limit data fields, format content, and it will look at some ways to troubleshoot when things don't go as expected.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the use of Custom Objects with Archer including constraints, tools, and integration options
- Include Custom Objects in Archer applications
- Customize UI layouts and format content using custom objects
- Manipulate and limit data fields with Custom Objects
- Troubleshoot custom object code using developer tools included in a web browser
- Correct custom objects issues which arise during the packaging process

Prerequisite Knowledge/Skills:
Previous participation in the Archer Administration I and II courses or equivalent work experience is strongly suggested to be successful in this course. Archer Administration topics covered in Admin I and II are not repeated in this course. Requires Archer version 6.9 or later administration skills, including creation and modification of applications, data-driven events, calculated fields, and layout configuration.
Participants should also be proficient with web design and development technologies. Creating custom objects requires the participant to be able to write and modify HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, and Regular Expressions. Participants without this knowledge may not have the foundational skills required to complete this training.
