I have a number of values list fields that need to be populated from a corresponding calculated values list field. All fields are on layout, with some in sections and some in tab sets, if that matters.
Field1 is calculated VL
Field2 is manually updated VL
If Field2 is blank and Field1 is not blank, copy the value from Field1 to Field2, otherwise take no action.
The intent is to pre-populate Field2 when the XREF field is populated that drives the calculation in Field1, but then not over right Field2 when end user makes an update.
While I could have a DF update Field2, it requires the end user to exit the record and wait for the DF to complete, so checking to see if there is a better option. There are about 60 fields that require this action, so may need to determine if it's worth the effort to maintain a CO with that many VL field references.
