RSA Archer’s product goals are to continually evaluate how we can best provide the functionality you most need to effectively address your tasks and responsibilities, whether you’re at your desktop or on the go. We don’t build features to simply “check the box” -- we focus on what’s most functional, usable and desired by our customers in order to build the right things.
We are in the process of determining the most appropriate direction for our mobile capabilities. I’ve touched on mobile as a topic in my System Admin Working Group to get a feel for what best meets your needs for GRC on-the-go and the results vary. At RSA Charge in New Orleans in October, I will be running a Mobile Working Group meeting to dig deeper into this topic. We want to use this Working Group as an opportunity for you to convey your needs, discuss those issues as a group, and determine the most critical items.
While our mobile strategy is currently a work in progress, here’s what I can tell you based on your feedback to date:
- Today, Archer pages that do not contact Silverlight can be accessed on a tablet.
- The impending removal of Silverlight from Archer’s front office pages will allow end users full access to Archer on a tablet. Optimization for tablets will follow at a later date.
- Two Archer mobile apps are targeted to be updated and released on the Apple store later this year.
- Creation of additional mobile apps is under discussion, what specific business needs additional app(s) would best fulfill.
