The Banking Regulation and Supervisory Agency (BRSA) of Turkey was created to ensure that the institutions under the scope of regulation and supervision carry out their activities safely and securely within the framework of the duties specified in the banking law and other related regulations, that the credit system works effectively, the rights and interests of the savers are protected, and thus contributes to the development of financial markets and financial stability.
The new BRSA Regulation on Banks' Information Systems and Electronic Banking Services contains detailed rules on information systems used by banks, establishment and management of bank information systems, information security, outsource information system service procurement, and electronic banking services such as online, mobile, and phone banking services.
With the enactment of the BRSA Regulation on Banks' Information Systems and Electronic Banking Services, the Communiqué on the Principles to be Based on Information Systems Management in Banks (“Communiqué”) to which banks are currently subject to will be repealed.
