Law 13.709/18 of Brazil is the General Law for the Protection of Personal Data, also known as “Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados - LGPD” and is intended to regulate the treatment of personal data of all individuals or natural persons in Brazil, as defined in the first article of the LGPD, with the intent to protect individuals basic and fundamental rights.
It unifies over 40 different statutes that currently govern personal data, both online and offline, by replacing certain regulations and supplementing others. It must be imported using UTF-8 Encoding.
