Populate User Name who approved the record in an Text box or Record permission field

Hello Everyone,

How to Populate User Name who approved the record in an Text box or Record permission field.

Note: Approver field has more than 1 approvers, so we need to identify who approved it.

@Manasa This wouldn't be a reportable solution but you could activate the "Display last modified date" option on the Status field, which would show you the name and date of the last person that last edited that field. I don't know of any solutions that would allow you to automate populating the name of the person who approved the record in a reportable field though.

Jasmine, we tried the history log method, but had to end up writing a custom object on the layouts to populate a text field so that we could report on it.  This has been requested by many different for years so that we don't have to write/support custom code.

@jasullivan01 Could you please share the custom object code? Also does this code work, when the record are approved using Bulk Update option.

@Manasa custom objects only work when a user is in a record.  Best to use a data feed instead of Bulk Update so you can populate the necessary fields.
