The RSA Archer - Elasticsearch integration has been around since RSA Archer Platform 6.5‌, was enhanced with RSA Archer Platform 6.6‌, and we've continued that momentum with further changes now available in RSA Archer Platform 6.7. All of this investment into our content search and indexing technology is great, don't get me wrong, but it can lead to a "Who Moved My Cheese?" feeling in trying to keep up. The changes made to Elasticsearch will hopefully help you find your cheese more easily.

First, we decoupled the integration from the RSA Archer Instance level, and instead applied it at the installation level. Previously, each Instance of RSA Archer required it's own Elasticsearch cluster to index against. This introduced unnecessary infrastructure and costs (time, hosting/server costs, etc) to your RSA Archer deployments. Starting with RSA Archer 6.7, one Elasticsearch cluster can now be utilized to index all of your RSA Archer Instances. Visit the Installation Settings tab of the RSA Archer Control panel to set this up.

We have additionally migrated the Indexing Service Configuration Parameters out of a *.config file, and into a brand new RSA Archer Control Panel Plug-In: The Indexing Service Manager. Upon upgrade to RSA Archer 6.7, your existing *.config file values will be migrated into this new plug-in, and then removed from the file. Moving these parameters into the ACP will also preserve them on future upgrades. No more having to remember to back and make your *.config file edits after upgrade. The ACP plug-in additional comes with tooltips to explain what each configuration parameter does, as well as color indications to show when default values are used and when they have been modified.

RSA Archer 6.7 requires Elasticsearch version 6.8.3 to operate. Please see the full RSA Archer - Elasticsearch compatability table below
