Conflicts of interest exist throughout the commercial world.  As new products, activities and strategies evolve to meet changing customer needs and market conditions, organizations need to be disciplined in continually searching for new conflicts and working through how to address them.  They are a particularly important challenge for large and complex institutions, which can have affiliations that lead to a host of potential conflicts of interest.
