Execute Save when certain Value selected

I'm troubleshooting something, and from what I'm finding, I want to have a custom object to kick off a record save behind the scenes when "No" is selected in a Values List. 

I think I'm on the right trail, but has anyone else done this and would have the code available for sharing?
