Application GUID changed to lower case letters in 6.10

I just found that application GUIDs as of 6.10 user lower case letters rather than upper case.  (Every one I've looked at is lower case, but I'm not sure if it's 100% of GUIDs.)  This breaks all my code using the API, as I'm searching for the module ID using the (upper case) GUID so my code works across instances.  Was this change intentional?  This is a very impactful change, at least to me.

@MargoBrosnan, best to open a support ticket on this so they can ask engineering.
