Foreign Adventures

Embarking on a trip to another country is always an adventure. The adventure can, at times, be overwhelming if your travel takes you to a country where you don't speak the language or speak it well. The simplest tasks, like asking for directions or ordering a coffee to start your day, can be complicated. For customers around the world, every day can be an adventure when they are using software developed in a foreign country. Let’s face it, it can be complicated. Software vendors do not always place value on globalizing and localizing their software. Translated versions are not immediately available when the new software is released, and documentation is not always available in your primary language.

Making Things Simpler

As a leading, global risk management solution, RSA Archer is excited to announce that—with our 6.6 release—we will be knocking down some of the obstacles our international customers face! Beginning with our April 6.6 release, world-wide customers will be able to download their RSA Archer language-preference version and take advantage immediately of the new features and product improvements. Translated releases and use cases in all supported languages, including French, Spanish, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese and simplified Chinese, will be posted to RSA Link simultaneously with our General Availability English release.

To learn more about the new functionality in the April release, please follow our blog series and join us on the Free Friday Tech Huddles or the Virtual Roadmap sessions.

So, what does this mean exactly?  What will be presented/translated in the chosen language?  Field labels?  Data and content?  Help text?  Will it translate notifications generated to be in their language?  Can you provide more details around what this means exactly?

In the past at initial General Availability (GA) of a new RSA Archer software version, it was only available in English. Customers requiring language translated versions had to wait until a later Cumulative Patch Release (CPR) version of the new software included the translations to utilize the new functionality. With the 6.6 release all the languages are now available at the same time. What is available within the code as translated remains the same.
